Senior Class Foreign Missions
Through Sparrow Missions, Dca seniors have the opportunity to travel internationally for the purpose of serving other cultures and spreading their faith. Seniors and select faculty members travel to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. While there, the group visits orphanages, homeless shelters, nursing homes, men’s rehab centers, and impoverished areas. The team ministers in various ways: playing with children, cleaning, serving lunches and snacks, visiting, conducting worship services, performing, giving gifts, etc. Students from other grades are able to participate by donating items for dispersal: toys, band-aids, brushes, flip flops, coloring books, toothpaste, and gum, etc.
“While in Honduras, I realized that we are all called to heal the broken hearted, preach the good news, and care for those forgotten by the world. We were created to be Jesus’ hands and feet, and there is nothing more satisfying than answering that call.” – Emily Hines, DCA Senior 2013
When you travel to a third world country, see the things we saw, experience the things we did, and witness to the broken and the lost, all with your senior class from high school… It changes your life, forever! God has opened my eyes to His world, to people He created and loves. When I close my eyes, I see those people and those places. I see sweet Carlos and picture the joy on his face over his little brown flip flops and wonder where he is tonight. I see Cinthia, and wish I could hold her to tell her she is so beautiful just one more time!! This trip made missions personal… I built relationships that I could never forget about, even if I tried. I know without a shadow of a doubt I will spend the rest of my life in His world, sharing Jesus with those who are desperate for a Savior, just like I was when He rescued me. God has blessed me, and in turn I want to be a blessing! – Kristen Asmus, DCA Senior 2013

High School Mission Trip
In the spring, all high school students travel to Lynch, Kentucky, to serve Christ by helping people in need. Students spend the week renovating apartments, painting fences, waterproofing buildings, cleaning roadsides, and other acts of service. The week is a blessing to everyone involved.
Warriors on Missions
Middle and High school students have the opportunity to join DCA’s Warriors on Missions Club. This club seeks ways to be the hands and feet of Christ. Baking sweets for community workers, writing letters of spiritual encouragement, raising funds for the needy, and sponsoring Uganda students are a sampling of services the club provides.
Our Warriors on Missions Club traveled to Lynch, Kentucky, during the weekend of October 27, 2012, to work with struggling Eastern KY families. While there, the students hosted a Fall Festival and touched the lives of at least 200 people. DCA families donated 1,744 packets of hot chocolate/apple cider and 57 bags of candy to be used at the festival. The students also delivered books bought by the change donated at DCA’s recent book fair.
