DCA Counseling Office
The Counseling office at Danville Christian Academy works in concert with DCA faculty, administration, and parent community to ensure that each student feels supported, understood, and adjusted during his/her experience at DCA. In addition to offering a safe and confidential setting for students during periods of difficulty and transition, the office seeks to provide information and resources that will assist students and their families beyond the school day. Individual and/or group support, life skills and parent education are coordinated through this office.
Our counseling team is comprised of staff and faculty with a commitment and passion for helping to shape the lives of students. Our counselors bring knowledge and experience in different areas and provide our students with options in finding the right person with whom to connect. Our doors are always open to parents and students alike. As we move through the academic year, it is our hope that you will feel free to contact us with any concerns you have about your children. It is our sincere wish to get to know every student on campus and make certain each student finds his/her place at DCA.
Counseling Office Goals
- Provide Support and Counseling to DCA Students. We serve individual students as they seek some resolution to personal difficulties they might face during the school year.
- Serve as a Resource for DCA Students, Parents, Faculty, & Staff. We help inform and educate our DCA community about normal developmental behaviors as well as current issues students may be experiencing.
Counseling Service Offers
In-class guidance lessons introduce our young students(K-5th grade) to navigating common situations and the emotions that come with them. Topics such as anger management, kindness, tattling vs. telling, respect/manners, being truthful, consequences, love, responsibility & stress management are included in our curriculum.
We also work to assist our older students with class schedules, testing prep, college and career readiness. Individual sessions are available as needed to address student social/emotional needs and for helping families connect with ancillary services within our community.

Favorite Bible verse: Joshua 1-9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
What I enjoy most about working with students: Helping our students with their educational, career, social and spiritual development and needs. Also, collaborating with parents, teachers, and others to ensure a student's academic success. It is wonderful to see growth both socially and academically in our students.
Favorite Bible Verse: Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8
